The brakes on my 2006 2.0T A4 squeal like crazy. Dealer says brakes are fine (both pads and rotors) and that the squeal is "normal". I'm hoping new pads will get rid of the squeal. Can anyone recommend the best pad-only upgrade that will fit my model? I want no squeal and would prefer to not lose bite or braking power. Car is for normal street use - no tracking.

Your new so dont worry about it. I also think i have heard that cearmic pads are good they will cut down on the dust as well.

Thanks Ocadam. I've actually been through all that (rotors and pads are supposedly fine, had them cleaned, sprayed, chamfered, etc.) I've also repeated the bedding just in case. At this point I'm ready to try swapping in new/better pads. I've heard Akebono Euro-ceramics are best for this, but they don't make them to fit my car. And I thought a post dedicated strictly to pads and pad materials might hijack the thread you referenced.

Has anyone out there cured similar squeals simply by swapping their pads? Care to share which pads did the trick?

Just post a thread in the B5 section.
