Default Suppression Filter

Hey guys,

Do any of you know where I could find an electronic suppression filter for the coil packs? They come standard on you engine harnesses, but I am having trouble finding them by themselves. I need to install one on my A4 so I can run the Hitachi style coils like you guys do.

Thanks

UMMMMMM WHAT!?!? All you have to do is buy the packs with the same wiring harness connection. ecstuning sells what your looking for.

Yea, I bought the packs. I installed them and everything fits...My problem is that I get electrical problems when they're under heavy load. So the batt light starts flashing, and my accessories (detector, etc) get overloaded or something. The shop foreman (who I trust) at the dealer said he thought that it needed a suppression filter on the ground wire. I e-mailed ECS with no response yet. Do you think something else is causing this to happen? It only happens, so far, with the Hitachi coils (both stock and tuned modes) at or very close to full throttle.

Thanks

I was asking if anyone knew where I could buy a suppression filter? Or if anybody had one from a wire harness that did not need?

Weird. I have no issues, and no suppressor.

Wire corroded pretty bad on mine, I just yanked it off, the wire is still attached, but the suppressor is trash.

I'd think that would be a dealer part.

Yeah, the dealer said they can't find them unless I buy a whole TT engine harness. And yes it is weird, but my car seems to be the exception to every rule...

Ya if you're talking about noise suppression filter then i doubt that would fix your issue. Those are usually just to help filter out noise and such for longevity of electrical components. Also helps with audio clarity. It sounds like either the plugs are not right, or the coils are not getting enough juice to sustain continuous sparking at high rpm. I don't know really, just a guess. I would make sure that there is no corroded connections and that the gauge of wire on the harnessinstalled is enough to meet what the coils require. Radio shack may be able to order you something if you can find out the specs on the filter, but you might have to rig it yourself.
