Default changing the air intake

The TT is me and my son's project car. He really would like to make it louder. I was thinking of changing the intake to like a cold air intake. What do you guys think will it make the engine louder? I know I am sounding very poserish.

intake will make the DV (Diverter Valve) louder that's for sure. you want loud? i'd get a downpipe w/ a test-pipe to a resonator deleted catback exhaust.

turbo-backs are always loud[&:]

Last night me and my friend installed one of the shroom air filters on my car and the intake noise and BOV both increased alot we were both very impressed with the new sound the kit wasnt designed for a TT but I used the flat bars and some bolts that it came with and secured it in place using the holes from the stock airbox so it doesnt move around.

The stock airbox quites the engine noise down considerably. With an open element filter, engine noise will increase.
