Default Audi Assured vs Privat Warranty

Hey -

I have had an A4 1.8 for 4 years covered under the Audi Assured program and it has been great. Figure Audi has paid about $3-4,000 of repair costs along the way (5 wheel bearings, etc....).

I went to the dealer today and looked at trading my A4 (2000 with 95,000 miles) in as the Assured program will expire at 100K miles with a newer 2002 A4 with 28,000 miles.

They said that they are no longer going to be offering the Assured prorgam as Audi is no longer making good on all of the claims and is tightening up what they will cover, etc and instead werer pushing me to buy a private insurer (Universal or CSA) for a cost of about $2,800 for a 5 year 100K warranty ($100 deductible).

They claim that the Assured program, ain't what is used to be.....

I am somewhat sceptical as I have had nothing but good expereinces with Audi covering everything.......

ANy expereince out there, what do you think???

Thanks
