Default Replaced MAF, turbo still MIA

So I took the advice that I got here and replaced the MAF but still randomly the turbo seems to go MIA without any apparent reason.I mean it really is slow when this happens! Anything else that could cause this?

Thanks!

when does it do it and do you have a boost gauge to back up the claims?

It is really random. It can change from one moment to the next. And I haven't isolated any one thing that triggers it. I've tried turning the AC on or off. I have tried turning the ignition on and off with no luck. I don't havea boost gauge so no, I can't quantify it in those terms. But the difference is like night and day. I guess it could be something else other than the turbo. But I mean my wife's 1.8 turbo jetta wagon has more punch than the TT when it's doing this. I would say that 75-80% of the time it is fine.

Thanks,

Inibalir

They having the ecu scanned. There could be some codes in there not setting of a cel. Could be a dirty or miss aligned TB, dirty iat or map sensor, etc

Autozone - dont know if they can pull stored codes without CEL.

TB - Throttle Body
IAT/AIT - Intake Air Temp sensor or Air intake temp sensor.
