Default 180 vs 225 MAF

What are the differance in these? Can the 225 MAF be used with the 180 housing and connector? Is the 225 MAF housing bigger than the 180?

225 MAF=3" housing
180 MAF=2.5" housing

I don't think the elements are interchangeable since they're configured for the housings.

180= 2.75" od housing.

The 225/vr6 housing wont fit in the stock airbox and shouldnt be used unless you are using a BT calling for it.

The larger the housing the less airflow speed it reads. Your g/s will be to high and have fueling problems. You can get a 225/Vr6 maf for like $30. If you dont have one before you install the turbo, just run w/o the maf until you the correct size.

You can get them in forum classifieds for cheap when they are for sale. You can fab up a maf housing if you like. You just need to get the flange for it and weld it on the piping. Think 42dd or 20sqaured have one.

Well, if you are going from a 180 to 225/vr6 maf, most tunes use the stock maf element.
