HAS ANYONE HAD THIS ISSUE? I JUST BOUGHT 3.6 BASIC VERSION THAT COMES WITH 6 DISC CD CHANGER. TO MY SURPRISE I FOUND ADDITIONAL SINGLE CD PLAYER IN THE ARMREST. IT IS TAKING ALL THE SPACE THERE AND IS ABSOLUTELY USELESS WITH ALREADY INSTALLED CD-CHANGER. THE DEALER WAS AS SURPRISED AS I WAS AND DID NOT HAVE A CLUE. COULD THIS CD PLAYER BE REMOVED AND REPLACED WITH THE STORAGE BIN? IS IT MANUFACTURING DEFECT FROM AUDI SIDE?

I have the same problem! The dealer was really surprised when I took delivery, and I overlooked it during delivery because I thought, "oh well, the car is perfect otherwise".

The dealer only had a premium version available for test-drive. And I had to order my 3.6Q7.

These are the small things that make it difficult for me to ADORE my Q7. I mean, what the hell? I see absolutely NO use for the "extra CD player", and I have no storage compartment in the armrest! I have searched the internet for a center-console replacement, but nothing. I can only hope that when the Q7 becomes more popular that there will be some aftermarket option.

Don't even get me started on the fact that the cup holders are in the absolute worst place, and when I have a bottle in my cup holder I can't even reach the MMI knob without twisting my wrist awkwardly.

I mean, come on Audi ... you guys are too good for this crap!

I haven't heard of a single CD player in the armrest but all 3.6 Premiums should have received the Audi Music Interface (AMI) there. Does it have the same "pop-up" behavior as the AMI to access the front of the player? I would have to wonder if there was a mistake and the CD player was added instead of the AMI. If so, definitely go back and have them install the AMI instead. Can you take a pic of the single disc CD player?

I am vexed myself between adding the AMI to my Q7 and losing the storage space there as the tomme of a owner's manual in the glove box doesn't leave much space there either. I liked the C5 answer to having a special slot under the steering wheel to store the owner's manual, leaving the glove box still available as an open storage area.
