Replacing Chorus Tape Player for CD Player

Replacing Chorus Tape Player for CD Player
Hi
I have a 51 reg (2001) A3 1.8T, it came with the standard audi tape player, I have checked with my local Audi dealer and they have told me that there is no pre-wiring for the cd changer in the boot (apparentley Audi stopped doing as standard for a while and I have one of those models... brill) Audis price for running the connection cable is about £150, so I thought I might just upgrade the Head unit to a single CD player... I don`t want to put in an aftermarket, there are always plenty of Audi CD players on E Bay but I am unsure as to whether any cd player from any Audi, any reg will fit my car... Are there any rules\part codes to follow to ensure that I bid on a stereo that will actually fit and work...
thanks in advance
Gav

RE: Replacing Chorus Tape Player for CD Player
i've just bought a a3 on an 04 plate. at www.addachanger.com you can get a 6 cd autochanger for the boot which comes with an adapter and 5m cable for £137. It is a kenwood cd changer and plugs straight into chorus, concert cd players.
