Default GT2871R VS. GT28RS

Which of those turbos will be better with stock engine (no internal modifications), and probably mostly street use with occasional road course racing...
I know that GT2871R will produce about 40-50 more HP, but when I did a research it showed that it might be too big for 1.8 engine and that GT28RS will spool 500-800RPM faster...
Thanks
Sebastian

if you were dragging your car I would say GT2871R for sure but you are just going front light to light and track usage definetly the GT28Rs you don't want to have to late a spool on the driving you will be doing

Do you know the real life differences between those two? When I read about them it most of the people said that GT2871R will produce A LOT more HP in upper rpm range than GT28RS, but how much more?? I could live with 500rmp longer spool for that 50 additional HP

I would def stick with the gt28rs. A well tune gt28rs has the potentiol to actaully scare when behind the wheel. So many more people run them, more tried and true.

Have to disagree on this one. I still spool at 3700. I get PLENTY of power and don't run out of steam at 7500rpm like the rs. go with the 2871r. You REALLY should go with the 3071r. they make the best bang with great drivability. it's not an on and off switch like the rs. 3071r .64 hotside. you can't go wrong. if you get the rs,, you will wish you got something bigger
