Graffix, it doesnt matter if the gt28rs runs out of steam at 7,500rpm, because going past that without a biult motor is not going to be good. A gt28rs is good for low 12s on a good tune,0 to 60 in about 4 flat. A gt28rs is a much better daily driver.

That’s a good point, cuz I am not going to build up the engine internals...
The question is what will be the HP gain on high rpms(4k to7k) between gt28rs Vs. 2871r or even 3071r
Thanks

Why did you go with 2871r instead of 3071r
Thanks

ORIGINAL: GraffixWB

Have to disagree on this one. I still spool at 3700. I get PLENTY of power and don't run out of steam at 7500rpm like the rs. go with the 2871r. You REALLY should go with the 3071r. they make the best bang with great drivability. it's not an on and off switch like the rs. 3071r .64 hotside. you can't go wrong. if you get the rs,, you will wish you got something bigger

You can ask everyone with a gt28rs if its enough power. And only the extremely powerhungary(re.tomritt) guys will tell you its not enough. You can make 400hp with a gt28rs, and by then your motors in danger. Like i said, if a 400hp A4 isnt enough for you, then you need to look at a different stock engine to play with.

btw- I had a full blown Apr Stage 3 setup(gt28r),25psi,with just about everyother go fast mod, only weighd in at 2900pd, and my car hauled big time.

Im selling it if your interested.

LINK

okay so I did some research and I found that GT3071R with right supporting mods (FMIC, fuel, programming) will produce 420WHP and 1/4 11.97 with 121MPH. here is the dyno chart LINK

The same car (same mods) but with swapped GT28RS produced 295 Wheel HP, 328 Wheel Torque 12.4 @ 110 MPH here is the dyno chart

And here I foudl the compression between all 3 turbos, on the same car LINK

So to summarize GT28RS will spool faster than other 2 turbos, and at 4k RMPS produce around 60WHP/100WTQ more than GT3071R and 40WHP/50WTQ more than GT2871R. At around 4700RPMS all turbos will produce the same power, after that GT3071R really shines...

If you ask me that’s thought decision that I will have to make. Less lag/les power (GT28RS) or more lag/more power (GT3071R) or something in between (GT2871R)
What do you think?
Sebastian
Ps. I am really not sure if stock internals will handle over 350RWHP with that huge GT3071R

Stock top end can take 7500 all day long.. well , maybe not ALL day long. I'm going to have the same setup as tom here in a few weeks. Just have a few more things to buy before it's complete. injectors (630s) and plugwires. Power hungry or not, i recommend the 71r over the rs. the power curve is just plain and sumple much better. ther are no power problems or laggyness with mine. plus, the rs has almost too snappy of a spool. it's a little neckbreaker.
I would have gotten the 3071r if I had known any better. BUT, i'll have a 57 trim on in a few so,, VROOMVROOM

P.S. if you want a 71r and a mani, I'll have my old stuff for sale in a matter of weeks

I will be interested in your parts (if the price will be right).
Just email me at sebastianek23@hotmail.com
What 57trim turbo you going to use (Garrett T3/T4E??)??? What will be the power wise advantage over 3071r?? And you think that stock rods will hold that amount of power???
Thanks
Sebastian
