Default Speakers not working .. MMI is ?

Hey Everybody ..

I am new to this community, as I just got my 2008 A5 about 2 weeks ago. Unforunately, I have an issue. For some reason my MMI works totally fine, but I am getting no sound out of the speakers regardless of if it is the phone, the radio, a CD, or the IPOD. It shows its playing on the screen, but you cant hear anything out of the speakers. If anybody has any idea about what this could be please let me know ...

Thank You ....

did you get your windows tinted? I heard of problems where water used on the rear window leaked into the electric guts and basically fried the stuff I forget if there is some kind of mute button on the wheel. If all else fails, take her to the dealer. Everything should be covered still

I am having the same problem with my S5. It happened first a few days ago and then the problem went away. Today, the problem with no sound from the speakers has returned.

So, no one has heard of this issue?

Note that I have had nothing done to my car, including the windows. This problem seems to have just started to happen on its own.

Default No Sound

Hiya...

Did anyone manage to find out what the problem was with their sound. I am having the same problem, the cd shows that it is playing, the mute sign comes on and off as the volume button is pressed and strangely when i get a call on my parrotthe sound works perfectly through the speakers. It is only the audio that is not working....

The wires are probably shorted somewhere. Be careful, it can overload the amp in the head unit if you crank the volume up and the wires are shorted.
Good Luck!!

Today my audio in my 2009 A5 3.2L S-Line cut out. It was making noise in the right channel for about a week. Today the sound doesn't work on Bluetooth, the CD player, the navigation voice, and the radio, including Sirius. The MMI won't even access the sound settings menu. When I start the car it goes to the AM radio, without sound. Otherwise the MMI works, but without sound.

Default A5 audio issues

Well since my first response, I got a new amp to replace the old one that failed. I got sound only thru the subwoofer, which I had to immediately return for a reprogram, which restored audio to the MMI. The MMI worked the whole time (about 3 weeks), albeit without sound.

After this reprogram, a buzzing was heard in the left front midrange speaker, which will be replaced tomorrow.

And so it goes on....
