You should remove the instrument cluster and remove the bulbs on the back side and chech them with an ohm meter. Usually the bulbs burn out. Sometimes the filament will break so that it intermitently makes contact.
You may either get these special bulbs from the dealer on online from places such as www.AudiCarParts.com. You may google "Audi parts", to find other sources.
There are some bulbs on my 1996 A6 which are soldered to printed circuit boards. The outside temperature sensor and the transmision position indicator bulbs repacements may be purchased at Radio Shack and soldered to these boards.
On the newer Audi, the bulbs may not be easy to replace, but those with the C4 chassis usually unscrew from the cluster.
So you would only need www.modulemaster.com/en/index.php if your instrument cluster had more than burnt out bulbs, such as if the "auto check module" broke. The ModuleMaster removal instructions on their website are not for a 1995 C4 chassis Audi.
