I love my A6 2005.. Colby has a lot of miles on him about 160K.

Hooked a computer to it and these codes popped up. I took it to the
audi service center, I didnt want to pay 230 for a diagnostic test knowing
that I had these codes already.. and they are very expensive.. Any takers
on what may be the issue and can it be fixed.

P0391 camshaft position sensor bank 2
P0346 camshaft position sensor bank 3
P0300 Random Misfire
P0305 Cylinder 5 Misfire
P0304 Cylinder 4 Misfire
P0306 Cylinder 6 Misfire

Defective Light Adaptive Sensor

It shakes horribly and CEL is blinking ..

How much will it cost to get it fixed, and is it worth it.

A6 3.2 2005 161,000

 

For the misfiring, have you tried pull the spark plugs to see their condition? any oil on them.

The cam sensors are pretty cheap, don't recall the install process though.

What is the back ground for maintenance in the last year or so? what have you replaced?

 

An audi technician I met came by today. he said that since both of my cam shaft sensors are shot, the VGA shows this is as the only problem. Once he orders and installs he will check to see how old the spark plugs are, well pull em out and check.

I guess I will see from there. =( I hope this fixes it. also he is going to see about my adaptive light sensor. I dont have to replace the whole light set like audi told me. smh...

These dealership service centers should be much nicer as we have spent so much on the car already.
