Default How to check for Vacuum leaks

How do you check for vacuum leaks? I am showing the codes for running lean on bank 1 and 2. does that mean it is the mafs? I am also showing the code for Leak Detection Pump Failure. Any suggestions? Oh yeah I have a 2000 A6 Quattro 2.7T. Thanks!

Alright I cleaned the MAF with MAF Sensor cleaner. . .nothing. Dissconnected it drove down the interstate everthing was fine, reconnected and same hesitation and power lost when reaching full boost. Does that mean the MAF is bad? and any idea about the Leak Detection Pump

that code is P1476 can that be tied into the MAF being bad? Definition is EVAP LDP Malfuncion/Insufficient Vacuum. Thanks

Did you by any chance get a flat tire recently?

Well, anyways, check the following website.

Also check the N80 valve too. You should hear that thing clicking away.

Now should the Leak Detection Valve be making noise or should I be able to put my hand on it and feel it working? Hey thanks for the help

You should hear it pumping, but not always, because it only turns on and off depending on the pressure. The reason that I ask about the flat tire is that I read in many instances if you get a flat on right front, it can damage one of the EVAP lines from N80 valve. N80 valve always clicks away.

The other issue can be the gas cap. If you checked all the vacuum lines and EVAP related hoses running to N80 valve and EVAP LDP, then next least expansive option is to check the gas cap. Othewise, you are probably talking new pump.
