Looking For Opinions A6 3.0 vs 4.2
Guys I'm new to Audi world so looking for some opinions.
I am looking at buying an Audi A6 - so far I have found two that are very nice and in my price range
1) 2009 Audi A6 3.0, 23K Miles Prestige Model Certified
2) 2011 Audi A6 4.2, 36K Miles Prestige Model Not Certified
First one is 40K / Second is 38K
So my question(s) - which one sounds like a better value? And my bigger question - I've read the V8 has minimal performance increase over the V6. Any real experience out there? I am thinking 50HP would make a noticeable difference.

Pros & Cons:
4.2 liter, V8, DOHC, 32-Valve, DOHC, SEFI Engine; Front/Longitudinal Mounted With Horsepower Of 350@6800, Torque Of 325@3500, Alloy Block and Alloy Cylinder Heads
0-60 5.5 seconds MPG 16 City / 24 HWY.
3.0 liters V6, DOHC 24-valve FSI Engine, aluminum alloy supercharge and intercooled
Horsepower Of 300 @ 5100-6800 rpm, Torque (lb-ft) 310 @ 2500-5100 rpm
0-60 6.0 seconds MPG 18 City / 27 HWY.
V8 has minimal performance increase over the V6? on the 1/4 mile run.
Then Fuel they both have 21.1 gallons and Requirement of 91 octane premium unleaded gasoline and up! V6 you'll get better gas mileage then V8.
But over all there are great machines to drive.
I would go for 3.0T and CPO.
I have an 06 Audi A6 4.2L Quattro DOHC 40-valve Horsepower 335 @ 6,600 rpm
0-60 5.6 seconds MPG 17 City / 23 HWY. SLine package boy when she runs, she runs like lola.

T does stand for Supercharge or Turbo. It just was carried over with the car, even Audi made note of it. So don't get fouled thinking it has Turbo.
And to answer your Q? I love my V8 and the hp, but not so much in city driving. I'll get about avg. of 265 in city driving on a full tank(21.1 gal). So if your a city folk a V6 will do you right. But if you feel you could live with that then then V8.
I was saying 3.0T because it's a CPO. If it wasn't CPO then get the 4.2.
