Upgrading Performance - "I Wanna go Fast"
Good Evening All - I'm a first time Audi owner and am very interested in making my whip faster then the little rice burner's and wanna be racers in my town. I have a Audi A6 3.0L, and am curious - since I know very little about decking out / tuning cars - How to make my Audi way Faster and more powerful. I love going fast, andstock will just not cut it. I have a FEW thousand to spend, not many. What is the best route to take, in making my Audi faster then the kids little mustangs and civicsin my town?
I'm looking for perhaps someone to give me some good tips on things that will make my Audi Faster - Way Faster and / or what or if I can Tune the car's default setup as well to make it a better racer. Thanks Guys!

Your only option on a 3.0L is a supercharger from PES. But that costs over 5 grand.
I wouldn't recommend putting that much power through your CVT transmission though.

Hate to say it, but you bought the wrong car if you wanted to mod it. Better choices out there for that.
As for your other question about a 2008 S5, something tells me that if you want to buy a $50k+ car to street race civics with, you will wind up like the kid in florida with an M5.

anyways, i'm sorry to say it, but there isn't a whole lot of performance stuff for the 3.0l. i think the best thing for you to do would be to get in contact with VAST performance in ferndale, michigan. i think they might be your only hope because they do their own custom in-house tuning and probably have some tricks up their sleeves that might help you out. just from speaking on the phone with these guys a few times, i can tell that they know what the hell they're doing, so they should be able to shine some light on your situation. if anything, maybe when you get your car done, you can come race one of my "little" mustangs and see howyour cardoes .

While Mustangs are no longer lightweights, the A6 is a heavy luxury car especially in quattro. There is no reasonable upgrade path to make a 3.0 engine competitive. The 2.7Ts can be breathed well into 500 hp with stage 3-4 upgrades, but it is still a 3900 lb vehicle. The older S4s with the 2.7T or even the 4.2 liter are fast(er) -- the 2.7T is the same engine in the A6 -- and there are upgrades and tunes for the supercharged 3.0T in the S4/S5.
At the end of the day, Audi is a luxury sports tourer but it is not a stoplight racer. You want to embarass Civics look at the M3, WRX, or any number of cars with big displacement V8s.
My advice is to enjoy the luxury and the ride and forget racing it. It will cost you enough just to keep a 10 year old OOOO in proper operating condition.
