Default Still can't seem to get boost

Replaced the DV, no vacuum leaks. The only thing left is the N75 valve. Is there anyway to bypass it to see if I can get boost? I checked the wastegate linkage and I was able to move it so I know it isn't stuck shut. This is driving me crazy! I have yet to have boost since I purchased the car. Its sad that my Land Rover Discovery II and my 92 VW rabbit cabriolet 1.8 with a whopping 90+ hp can smoke my A4. Other than that I love it. 89k miles on it. ball joint went, right rear wheel bearing, door lock pump, ABS module, ignition module, rear window regulator were either broken or went out right after I bought it. Seems to be losing power steering fluid but can't find any leaks. I'm curious, can I just use mineral oil for power steering? I see that it says mineral oil hydraulic fluid. Can't see paying $17 for a little bottle of fluid. Thanks everyone.

Stick with the right stuff for power steering - you can get a big bottle for $10 from www.germanautoparts.com. As for the missing boost, you said the wastegate isn't stuck shut. If it was, you would have crazy boost because the gate wouldn't open to bleed excess boost away. But if it won't seal shut properly, even if it's only partially open, your power will suffer noticeably. You said there's no boost leak (I assume that you used a leak checker and are not just going on a hunch), so the only way I can see you losing boost is if the wastegate won't seal shut, and you are bleeding it all away before it does anything on the business side of the engine.

I am beginning to think it is the wastegate actuator. It wasn't hard to move it. shouldn't it be hard to move with the engine off?

I'm wondering if there is a way to manually make the wastegate close so I can eliminate the wastegate. I know on my old 85 BMW 745i (16psi and FAST!) I could take the hose off of the wastegate and it would boost up, but there was more lag.

I tried numerous throttle body recalibrations. Also the wastegate will move and it returns right back. Only thing is shouldn't I hear a suction sound when I move it manually? This thing is driving me crazy, because I love the car despite having a million things go wrong.
