Hi,
I broke down last week (no acceleration, esp & ignition coil warning lights on) and problem was diagnosed as the throttle position sensor. Tested and repaired and all was ok until same problem has just occurred again. Any ideas on a cause gratefully received?

 

Car is A4 2.5 tdi convertible (04)

 

I would take a closer look at the engine control module. I had the same issue and my mechanic found one of the pin that connected to the ecm was bent and wasn't able to relay the throttle sensor information.

 

FYI I've replaced the engine ecu cover and (touch wood) haven't had a recurrence yet............
