Ok mine was broken, posted about this not to long ago. It was completely cracked open with a decent sized whole in it. What kind of problems could this have been causing to my car??

Probably none...maybe throwing a code. Mine was broken and then in trying to replace it, I broke a section off entirely (and then drove it over to a more competent friend's place) and it didn't hurt anything.

 

oil will be everwhere around the crack. fix it since it's cheap to do.

Could this pipe with a huge hole in it have caused my misfires and epc lights??

 

"This" as in the crank case breather hose? No.

 

Damn that sux, i was hoping it would solve some of my problems. If i may just ask, waht is this hose good for?

 

I think it's for emissions though it might also be a boon to efficiency...it vents the gases from the crankcase into the intake to be combusted and then go out through the exhaust instead of just being released into the atmosphere.

 

only problems you'd get from a cracked crankcase breather hose is a slight oil leak, boost leak, a CEL and the smell of a tp

your car is still sidelined? if you want i could see if my friend is willing to help you out, he's more into dubs but he's a tech

 

That part was replaced on warranty by my dealer. Now I have an 02 but it wouldn;t hurt to call your local audi dealer and see if there are any recalls onyour year

 

Yeah my car is still sidelined, its in my garage waiting for the head to be put back on. My dad was supposed to take it to get it rebuilt today, and im sure ill have it all finished a couple days after exams. And my uncle is helping me out so im fine with the help, but thanks chaos.
