Sweet setup Tip!

Hey, how exactly does the Kuda actually mount? Hard to tell from your pic.

Thanks

The Kuda mount was shaped to fit the contour between the two round vents-at the edge of the Kuda, there's a small tab that sits between the vent ring and the dash. It doesnt affect operations of the rings or vents. I chose to add a swivel on top so i do not block the vents, and likewise, keep the 'ring' theme unobstructed.
Im hoping to replace the HP with either a Sony Ux280p or OQO- its in my christmas list for me haha.
Sound by the way is via aux-in

Thanks man...if you don't mind, could you please take a pic or two of the setup without your devices so I can see the detail you just described.

Thanks!

Oh WOW! I want that set up. Talk about the ultimate little onboard computer.
As i mentioned above, im planning to replace the HP with Sony's ux280p- since it has a "PDA" feature while the actual windows vista or xp is starting up
from what i understand. but doing more research.
I purchased this HP rx5915 about 2 years ago for $399.00 you can ****** one up on ebay for $200.00

hope these helps- the blemish on the KUDA actually is just the sticky residue from the velcro (for the ipod)
I would also consider the Fotki/gadget tt thingy!

*****side view- as you can see, i added (screwed to the kuda base) a multi-purpose mounting bracket and then the swivel base.

Tab at the bottom goes between the stereo console and the dash, and the 2nd photo underneath shows one of the two tabs on the side of the KUDA mount which seats between the 'ring' and the dash.

One last question for you Tip...before you added your swivel mounting bracket, how would a garmin mount on the Kuda? It's really hard to tell on their site.

Thanks

Suggestion regarding your iPod conector. I don't know if you take it ever were with you(iPod) but what about pulling it through the Card tray so that way when its not in use you just slide it back in and away it goes. Just a suggestion

I like to see the 'new songs' title when i play my ipod at times- and hence i had it propped up front. Im actually trying to fabricate a spring loaded mechanism that would make the ipod pop-up when i open the card tray, and folds down when i slide it back in- but right now i like the way it is

the Kuda basically acts as a 'base' mount that you would attach your own mount/holder by gluing, drilling, whatever- on the kuda. My HP came with a mount and suction holder- but i found a swivel mount that attaches to the hp's holder. The main purpose of the KUDA is a mounting point to avoid drilling or gluing anything on the dash itself.
