Default Car Cover

Just recently purchased a car cover for my A4 on www.carscover.com and have been using it for about a month now...the cover is very good. I only drive me car about twice a week and the rest of the time its covered. my question is should i be washing my car before using the cover? will it hurt the paint? any advice will be great...

Usage Tips:
Do not place a car cover on a dusty or dirty car (clean surface by washing or use waffle weave towel and a quick detailer (QD) or remove dry dust with a car duster) Ensure that the cover fits well and keep the cover clean (dust / dirt between the inside of the cover or the vehicle surface will cause scratching) Purchase a good quality cover that is manufactured from a durable fabric suitable for your local climatic conditions and expected usage.

you also want to make sure the cover is 'breathable' it can still be water proof, but any mositure under the car must be able to be released. They have some decent ones from empire. their website has a computer generation tool so you can see what the cover looks like on and off the car pretty cool.
