Custom 2.8 turbo??
I want more pics..
This is what im contemplating doing... (but actually tuning it.. I know that the factory computers can accomidate for some change due to to O2 sensor, but still.. He'll be probably running at 15-16 a/f ratio under boost (or even worse..).. )
So.. if anyone here buys it.. take damn good pics, and tune the mo fo on a dyno.. and report back to us.
7psi on a 2.8 would be killer with a t3/t04. Lets see. 45%increased hp from 200.. 290 Hp? That would do some lovely stuff.. Get the off the line traction of the v6, and then the turbo kicks in.. I predict asub 6second 0-60 time.

If I had a 2.8 and$2k+ to blow on this kit id rather keep saving for a SC for instaboost and a much more clean setup. But whatever, it would be fun to fine tune a custom turbo setup if you have the time.
2k+ is a tad high for a custom system. I could do it for less than 1k. but anyone could do it for 1.5-2k
Turbo kits on ebay WITH WARANTY... bov, turbo, all gaskets and mounts (mounts need to be welded to pipes) 500 bucks (max.. seen kits for 250) t3/to4 just like this one.
THEN we have the piping. Exhaust shop should be able to make just the pipes pre bent for under 200. If you have a welder, like me, then weld it all together. Install.. Oh, and oil for the turbo would be tapped from the oil cooler return line. and hot oil would go to the oil pan.
Then its a matter of getting it tuned. Taking it to a tuner and getting a custom map would be the most expensive part. I would guestimate 300-700 depending on your hookups and skills..
But consider that in that 2k price, your getting an exhaust (yes, throw on a $100 magnaflow off the turbo with a dump, and your good.. Or run it all the way back using the existing pipe to your stock exhaust.) and an intake, without sacrificing fuel economy (turbo's probably make 1mpg less highway due to the slight restriction) or drivability.
eh.. my rant.. but im a turbo guy..

quoted from him "I am selling this because my money needs to be redirected to more important things like family. I do not have the time or money right now, and I am only looking to get back a decent amount to cover alot of the major parts that were expensive. My loss is your gain, as they say. If you really are interested in having a rare setup, I suggest you buy this and finish what I have started. There is no intercooler neeeded because it is a rear mount system."
while all of you are sitting here scratching ur heads like know it alls, the kit was sold to an old friend of mine in florida. I just recently received an email from him saying that he was very impressed with the kit, the design and how easy it was to install. He set up his own standalone in his shop, and has a pretty conservative tune on it. Nonetheless, the kit was very functional, and i suggest that all of you bashing this kit do some more research on this type of turbo kit before you act like you know what your talking about.

i love it when kids with little to no ACTUAL mechanical experience leach on to other "respectable" members opinions. there is probably less than 5 people on this entire site that can give a first hand/educated opinion on this setup.
so to all you that bash, i give you [sm=smiley21.gif]
