Brake Fluid Leak
I have been having a problem with brake fluid leaking from my driver side rear wheel. I initially thought it was coming from the fluid lines which lead me to putting stainless steel lines on the car. The leak persisted and i recently noticed it only leaks when i am using my e-brake to park. I believe it is coming from where the e-brake cable goes into the wheel?? Basically i am wondering if the whole caliper is bad or if there is just a seal that needs replacing. Thanks any help or suggestions are appreciated

RE: Brake Fluid Leak
Replace the faulty rear caliper (common problem) with new or rebuilt one. (I’d make sure to locate the leak first-wash and clean the wheel/caliper area).

RE: Brake Fluid Leak
Is it difficult to rebuild a caliper yourself. i am usaully pretty good at this kind of stuff but does it require a lot of specialty tools. And if it is better for me to bring it to a shop for this what kind of bill should i expect for them rebuilding a caliper?

RE: Brake Fluid Leak
you can buy a repair/rebuild kit and all it isO rings so if you can get the size then its a simple replacement ( calipers never really fail its the seals that were out )

Would these work for an audi. I kind of am having a problem finding a kit that i can buy with PAypal. MY debit card is MIA and my damn bank it takes nearly a month to get a replacement. I also thought thee may work since i think the audi uses firling brakes stock??? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Girli...em200201313142 |
