In a nutshell, carburetor works on the Bernoulli's Venturi Principle. In reality it is much more complex especially if you have one of those stupid feedback equipped for emission purposes. Can you fix one, depends on your mechanical skills. What is the problem or symptoms that you are experiencing?

they are very easy to repair, just watch out for springs. also try to get all the tuning bolts as close as they were before. usually they get all dirty inside and all you have to do is clean them up. you will have to buy the gasket kit for your carburator before prosiding. so any more help, I will be glad to assist.

Thanks; my car ( Audi 100 CD 1983/WH 1924cm eats too much gasoline- 14litre/100km. It is a simple one without stupid feedback equipped for emission purposes ( good point). I am not sure that it is very well fixed. And also don't keep revolution constant a relanti. Perhaps it is full of dirty inside but before I will start to dismount I want to have a chart with tuning bolts. I have some skill in this kind of job but I never dismount a carburetor with so many vacuum commands. I suppose that it is better to have more info about this issue.
Regards
George

For Offramp
Sir, I successfully change the o-rings from hydraulic pump (only 2 from Hi pressure) with cooper rings. Thanks o lot for your good point. Next week I want to drain out all hydraulic oil and fill with original one.
Have a nice day George

Sorry my friend, jpeg is fine but I suppose that scanned files will be better. I am not a native English spoken and I prefer to print it and so understand better because in text are many technical terms.
Thanks for your efforts. Best regards George

My friend, can you give some info about how can I resettle gasoline level in gasoline chamber? It is little strange for me to understand where is the right level.

RE: Carburetor Keihin

setting the timing marks up to the picture puts it to TDC ( top dead center ) then its set for ignition 0 as you say, data is also helpfull if you need to change the timing belt

georgep1 02-19-2006 12:35 PM

RE: Carburetor Keihin

Nice pictures! Your book is a treasure. Thanks a lot. I have changed the timing belt already... but I need some info about ignition distributor position when the engine is set to TDC. ( don't hurry - my car is on road ) I have found in a German manual some specifications about an engine WH with DLS 18 degrees advance (perhaps in German language and it is a specifications for ignition distributor).
Have a nice day. George
