Looking at a 5spd 1993 Audi 90CS, $1700
Hi guys,
I've been looking for a cheap reliable car that I can commute to school with, and I've decided it's a way better deal to get a used euro car than a japanese car. Used toyotas, hondas, etc seem to be ridiculously overpriced and all of them in my price range have high mileage. That being said, I'm sure a high mileage civic has probably been abused a hell of a lot more than a high mileage audi, VW, or bmw.... Anyways, to cut to the chase, here is a car I'm looking at:

So I guess my question is, how reliable would an Audi 90CS such as this one be, and what could I expect to spend on repairs and whatnot? We used to own a '96 VR6 Passat and at 100k the transmission blew up (I know that ISN'T supposed to happen though), but more importantly pretty much all of the windows and door locks started going completely haywire. Everything engine-wise and transmission-wise was great after we had the transmission rebuilt, but having my windows roll down when I stepped on my brakes really wasn't too satisfying. Would a 1993 Audi 90CS suffer from similar problems? This car seems like its been pretty well maintained, so do you think it's a decent deal?
I was about to buy a '95 BMW 318ti, but the seller backed out of the deal after I went home and decided he wanted to keep the car =(. I really need to try and find something before school starts next week D=.

dude, belive me this cars are great. I have 90 1995 FWD with 190K miles.
Most of there cars need to \have a new heater core. Expensive if to give someone, but cheap if you do your self.
