Default rear calipers 1994 audi 100 cs quattro

My father and I are changing the pads and rotors on my car. The rear calipers will not push in like the calipers in the front, causing us to not be able to put it back on with new pads. Are the calipers suppose to be like this? The old rotors were much thinner than the new replacement, and of course the pads were the same senario, thinner than the new pads. Are the calipers seized up?

please help

Well I am back for a bit.
I think I wrote the caliper story somewhere about mine.
Basically, you need to rotate the piston and simulteniously push. I used a pipe wrench and C clamp. Be carfull not to rip the protective boot.
Other way is to use the special tool, that I was lazy to search/buy/rent.
