Removing Belt/Belt Tensioner...

Trying to figure out how to get the tensioner off...
My old Jetta had a set of bolts that bolted the tensioner into the engine so it was stationary (after applying the right tension). The Audi doesn't seem to have any bolts... Do I just add pressure? Is there a special tool that I need??

Thanks.

Assuming that you are removing the alternator belt, if you have the old style tensioner, there is a octagon shaped slot in the arm of the tensioner. Into that fit a 10mm allen socket, if I remember correctly, and lever the arm to remove the tension on the belt. There is also a hole that you can fit a pin into (use a nail or something) to keep the tensioner in this position. Then loosen the center bolt and remove the arm and pully assembly.

Ended up getting the tensioner off by leveraging a thin breaker bar between the 2 pulley wheels until it spaced out the belt enough to get it off. *Phew! Glad I didn't break anything. Thanks for your help :)
