18" or 19" Wheels/Tires
So I'm obsessed before I even pick up my new/used car. It's all about being prepared.
I will wait for the original Pirelli allroad tires to wear out, but then I want to do a few things.
1. Any thoughts on the quality, wear rate and performance of the 'specially designed' Pirelli tires?
2. I would like to put winter/snow tires on the stock wheels eventually, but all I know is the Blizzaks--any suggestions?
3. I can see that there are not that many wheel options for the allroad (because of caliper clearance?). There are some very nice Hartmann wheels available, but offset spacers are required, and those things give me the *******. I really like the Hartmann A8-199 wheels, but other than tirerack.com, where else should I look for wheels/tires?
4. Last thing and I'll quit obsessing (for now), sounds and performance from APR, Milltek and Borla exhausts...any thoughts or opinions? I can't find the usual YouTube sound videos for allroads.
Thanks in advance for your responses.

Don't have any input on the wheels, but I'm considering going with 18s or 19s in the future. I've heard bad things about the Pirelli tires from numerous online blogs. Lots of people complain about how quickly they wear and a number of posts said cornering and snow traction suck. (I'm looking for advice on tires too since I've only had my car for 2 mos now)
I guess we're in the same boat--except for the complicating fact that, because the OEM tires on the car had dry rot (because of low mileage), the dealership gave me a brand-new set of OEM Pirellis. So, even if the tires suck, at least they were free. My plan has been temporarily foiled, in that I was going to buy a 19" tire/wheel set for Summer, and put snows on the OEM wheels. Guess I'll just use up these tires and spend my money on exhaust. Worse things could happen, I guess.

You should not have any issues running the 19s and the suspension. I have some RS4 wheels for sale if interested.

I have about 12K on my P6 allroad tires and I don't like the amount of wear, At the rate I'm going I'll have to replace them before the end of this year. But I do have a lead foot and love the twisties.

A friend of mine in Colorado has Blizzaks on his A3 3.2 and won't even consider any other brand. He loves em

Offset spacersshould not be an issue if you get them from the same supplier as the wheels. That way you know they were specifically designed for your particular wheel package. Check out: http://www.hartmannwheels.com/1-425-.../wheels/Audi/1

APR: Good sound and not too loud. I have heard of some droning at freeway speeds from one preson. Another said no issuesthere butwished it was louder.
Miltek: The way to go but expensive. Very well made. They have 2 verions - one is comparable to the APR, the other is louder
What my service manager at Rector Audi says: The APR is comparable to the quiter Miltek set-up. The Miltec appears to be made better and looks amazing. Also, The Miltek bolts on with no issues. The APR, in his experience, had to be gigged a little to get ti to fit properly
