Anyone psyched at the possiblity of a new Allroad for 2009 or 2010?
The tester is a sedan version, but there'san artist version of what the wagon will look like based on Audi's current design trend.

It bugs me that an A4 version means a decrease in size, but I'm psyched that a new allroad could hit the US market.

yeah I am! I love the A6 based allroad now, and an A4 based allroad would be nice too. but only in avant form, I honestly dont see the point of a sedan allroad. :P

RE: 2009 A4 Allroad
I think it's a little strange that Audi would engineer a new car based on the new A4 platform when they already have a proven Allroad built on the new A6 platform. I travel to Paris often for work and the new A6 Allroad iseverywhere. And beautiful! The only thing I can think is that they believe the price point needs to be moved downward so as to not compete with the Q7. As someone who has owned a lot of SUVs (Land Rovers, Range Rovers, Land Cruisers, Volvo XC90s) I don't even see the Allroad and the Q7 in the same market. And an A4-based model will be off my list as a replacement for my 2004 Allroad as it's just too small. Looks like the Volvo XC70 may get a serious consideration.

I like the XC70, a lot. but I still think they will still continue to sell the A6 allroad, and I think the allroad name will just be an add-on offroad package so to speak. So you could buy a A4 allroad or A6 allroad.

Good point about building an A4 allroad when the A6 version already exists. For me, the A4 size would be perfect..., it would be a perfect companion to my current allroad.

I hope it comes to the US! Won't it eat into Q5 sales though?

I honestly dont think so. the Q5 would be more of a higher riding vehicle anyway, and would also be much taller and heavier. the allroad's are basically just offroad modded versions of current cars which lets them keep their dimensions and lower ride height.
