Default allroad dilema-owners help plz

It's time to replace my old jeep. I currently own anA4 a Jetta and a bmw. Heres the dilemai'm torn between an X5 and an allroad. standard tranny only. 3.0 in the BMW. 2.7 tt in the allroad. both have similar gas mileage estimates(which sucks) and I really like the luxury of the X5 but have never driven an allroad. no dealer near me has one (pittsburgh). I would like some input from you guys that own allroads and if anyone near me has one they'd let me check out and drive i'd appreciate it...thx. oh, the cars will be used and i'm concerned about leaking air bags etc. also whats your actual mpg. I drive 60miles a day to work and back plus weekends

I love mine but i am biased. I love the drive just because it still feels like more of a sports car than a SUV. I have the 6 speed so it makes it real fun. With the air suspension, you are as high as a X5 if you need to. Check out the offroad section for pics of me offroading. But the x5 is sweet too. Just think what you want, suv or sport car/suv. Plus the 2.7 has a lot of potential for upgrades. Chipped will get you over 300hp and 400 lbft. Gas mileage i am averaging around 23 mpg. I go easy on it and if you are highway miles, should be a bit better.

ya i saw your pics. I hunt alot and need to take the dog and gear to get to my spots. I love my bmw . the wifes a4 is nice but just not roomy enuf for me.so i was thinking that the a6 platform would be a better choice and still give me some mpg...52.00 to fill up the 17 mpg jeep today...fukn oil companies

I hear ya. Well the allroad is a rugged wagon. easy to load and stuff. but i cant say the BMW is bad cause i love that too. Just comes down to picking one. I love mine that is all i can say. Perfect all around car for what i do and get in to.
