This forum was lookin a little too quiet, so I thought I'd throw something out there!

Put about 400 miles on the allroad last weekend and loved every minute of driving it! Been a while since I got it on the highway to stretch the legs. Car ran great, and the gas mileage wasn't bad at all...well, I mean bad for an allroad. I honestly think I landed somewhere in the mid 20's for mpg. The last few weeks I could watch the needle on the fuel guage move and it was killin me. I checked the tires and found 'em all to be pretty underinflated, so I bumped 'em up and what a huge difference it made. That's what I get for not paying attention to the obvious and assuming the pressure was fine.

Anyway, the car ran like a champ and I'm still stoked that I got her! Never thought I'd be into a friggin wagon.

I've been dying to get outfor adrive. It seems that every day... I get out of work, and I'm stuck behind people driving 10 mph under the damn speed limit. Even people on the dinky little backroad to my house! I'm starting to think that it's a conspiracy! I actually haven't taken the AR on the highway since I test drove it! I think I'll go for a drive. =)

I'm funny.. I've always loved wagons. I've only owned 1 sedan ever... and it drove me nuts.

You should def get it out for a good drive. It's probably just in my head, but mine feels like it runs a little better after breaking 90mph a couple of times.

The wife and I took ours from Boston to Portland, ME the weekend after we got it. I had only logged about 10 miles up to that point, so I was still getting used to it then.

=) I only got as far as the grocery store.. the autoparts store for some new wipers.. and the car wash.

I love Portland. I used to get there quite a bit. Til 2 years ago I lived in Portsmouth NH, so it wasonly a quick jaunt on 95. I do love that feeling you get when you've dropped the AR down to the lowest level. (Does you mind play tricks on you too when you do that? I really feel like the car changes by like 2 feet when I know it's only risen/dropped 3-4 inches.)

Yeah, I know what you mean about feeling like the car dropped anfoot even though it didn't. Especially when you watch the front of the hood and see it dropping.

I just remembered something I wanted to post! I broke 90 a couple of times on my trip, but the suspension didn't adjust, or if it did the led display didn't show any change.(shouldn't it show the drop from level 1 to level 2?)

I think you have to maintain the speed for a while before it decides to drop. Atleast mine does.

Here's another question, I have the MPG average display on my audi and as of yesterday it's been moving around a lot. In the past it's always moved from lets say 18.2 to 18.0 but it would take awhile (2-3 days). Now it moves from 17.8 to 18.4 to 18.3 to 18 to 18.4 all in one short trip (30min). Any ideas?

You know, all this talk of AR road trips in the Northeast makes me think that we should get a group together some weekend for an AR Rally. We can call it the Pirate Rally...ARRR, ya get it??

Okay, maybe not so much on the pirate theme.

Still, there are lots of us up here--from what I hear, you can't throw a rock in VT without hitting an allroad (ouch, just buff it out).

I would also love to have a chance to talk to some of the folks who've done mods. I am still on a quest for good information on exhaust upgrades. I want my baby to growl a little.

Enough from me for now. But let's think about meeting up, like at a micro-brewery somewhere in New England.

That does sound like fun.. esp if we had someplace fun to drive. I haven't modded my AR at all yet... and may not get that heavy into it. I'm going to have a hard enough time keeping it on the road with normal maintenance probably!

But yea, there are a pretty good number of allroads up here. Thing is... they aren't driven by folks that love them like we do. They mostly seem to be owned by rich housewives that still have them on leases. I think there's only a few of us weirdos that love the allroads quite like we do. =) And that's fine by me.

I bet those housewives will change their tune if we get a little Magic Hat #9 into 'em.

In fact, the Magic Hat brewery in Burlington might be the place to go. I teach at the Culinary Institute of America, and might be able to pull some industry strings to get a special tour and tasting. Heck, they should do a tasting for us anyway!

I'll look around a little and see what other worthwhile microbreweries are in the area. I'll leave it up to you locals to pick some swoopy roads forus.
