i fixed my air pump
remove the pump from the car, place on bench. remove two torx bolts holding cylinder to body. see piston with metal valve on top. likely valve has become loose and has shifted therefore no longer providing proper seal against top of piston. drill out the aluminum rivet holding the valve in place. you should see two aluminum nubs that hold the vavle from shifting. file off the nubs. go to hardware store and get one large rivet (this one will replace the one you drilled out) and two thinner ones to place where the nubs were. i used steel rivets. also get the proper drill bits for the rivets. first replace the rivet that holds the valve in place. next drill through the small holes where the nubs used to be through the piston. you will need to drill at a slight angle so you dont disturb the piston ring. install the other two rivets. you may need to make a little room in the cylinder head for clearance, you dont want your new rivets banging on the cylinder head. this fix does work! my pump has been working great for months. read this twice, maybe three times before drilling ing to the hardware store. when drilling dont let metal shavings get into body of compressor.
