Should I buy a 2002 allroad?
I'm trying to replace my MINI Cooper with something that has more space for people and cargo, but that's alsofun to drive. I LOVE the allroad's interior design - has everything I want including BOSE stereo, sunroof, seats that flip to flat without lots of work. I'm worried, however, that I'm in for a lot of $$ in repairs. The car is 2002 allroad 2.5, 77K miles, $17,000.Carmax has no service records, but it seems to drive well. I may be able to get service records from the Audi dealer here in Austin. I know very very little about cars, so maintenance would be at the audi dealer or other shop in Austin. Anyone have any suggestions? I don't want to buy into a headache, but I really love the car. Thanks!
One thing is for sure...there's a world of difference in gas mileage between a Mini and an Allroad.
I think $17k is high for an '02 w/77k miles on it. I don't know what the selection is like in your area, but here in the Boston area there are a few allroads with much lower mileage for less than $17k. Are you in Austin, TX?
I'm a fan of the allroad, but will say they are tempermental cars with whole lot of equipment that could require fixing.
Keep looking around. I'm convinced you can find a newer allroad with fewer miles and for less.
