Default Steering wheel controls

I have my eye on a 04 allroad and what are the control on the left side of the steering wheel? The right side looks to control the audio and cell phone. Are the up/down arrows more audio control or do they shift up/down of the transmission in tip mode? Also what does the S represents on the floor shifter "sport mode"?
thanks

Default RE: Steering wheel controls

Those button are more of an audio control. you can switch songs in your CDs by using LEFT up/down buttons. If you're listening to the radio, it controls the frequency.

It does not up/down shift with a touch of a button. I believe that there's an option that allows you to up/down shift just like tiptronic but it's onthesteering wheelwhere the horn figures are located. However, I have not yet to heard of such an option on Allroads. Maybe it's for RS cars.

S represents "Sport Mode."
