Tires Scrubbing
So my AR is my first AWD vehicle and I just wanted to run this scenero by current owners to make sure this is normal. When making a turn and with the steering wheel anywhere from 3/4 - to - full lock, I can hear the tires scrubbing on the pavement. I don't know how the AWD/differentials etc work on the car and am pretty sure this is normal. But I just want to make sure I don't have a problem with either the "center" diff (which I guess would be in the tranny?) or the rear diff. It's not a flat out binding or chirping, just a bit of tire hum/scrub. It's hard to describe but if it's normal I'm sure many others have heard it.
thanks
thanks
this is normal its just the nature of awd. remember the car is pushing and pulling through the turn and in a tight turning scenario it will seem very agressive. my car does the same thing. also I forgot to mention that quattro is different from most awd systems in that it is all time all wheel drive not just when there is grip to transfer it is a true awd system
