This is the old engine that was in my girlfriends '98 A4. The engine got hot and stopped running so I swapped in a running longblock. The engine had recently been rebuilt when we bought it but the radiator was bad and caused the car to overheat. The engine was not bound and turns freely. From first look, everything looks ok. I would suspect the rings collapsed and it lost compression.

I have most of the associated external parts available and can get more pics. Please message me with any questions or requests. I am new to this platform so am not sure what a lot of things go for, just give me a reasonable offer. The timing parts look very new, the head looks recently reconditioned, some good parts that can be used for your build up or spare motor perhaps. Thanks!

 

Oil pan is sold, everything else is still available but getting interest. Get the parts while you can, cheaper than ebay lol.
