Due to a huge mistake on my part of having dipped the head and intake in the wrong cleaning solution at my Dad's shop, I have effective destroyed all the machined surfaces of both parts due to etching and the growth of aluminum oxide crystals....

If anyone has a head that is rebuildable (I have the everything else) and intake for this engine, please e-mail me direct at dgcantrelljr(at)verizon.net.

The car is an 87 5000S Quattro. Engine code is NF.

I think I've located a head. Still looking for the intake. Part number for the intake is 035 133 201AM.

Cancelling the search for an intake. I'm going to be able to salvage the one I have. The damage was not as severe as I thought once I pressure washed the crusty crap off it. The mating surfaces are not pitted a lot due to the gasket material still stuck to them. They should clean up and a new gasket fill any small imperfections that might have been created.
