"ECU will work in any car": Is that really the case?

I have two 8D0 907 557 P ECU (1998 A4 1.8T manual AEB), one with a so called "TAP Stage II - 12.5 psi - +50HP" chip, one stock.

- does your ECU really work in my car (can't believe it would)?

 

Sorry for the confusion - I meant that it will work in another car due to the Immobilizer being removed

This won't work in a B5 - The ECU code has to be the same
