1998 A4 Mirror FS
I have a 1998 A4 Mirror FS. The glass is in perfect shape though the assembly could use some paint. I believe it is heated and auto tint.
Part# RS0 225 402
I bought from Banned member fcfirst3 and it is not the correct mirror for my A4.

I believe it should fit your A4 Since it is a 98 and this mirror is off of a 98 Audi A4. It appears Audi changed the mirror size on my 2001.5
If you're interested when I get out of work I can measure the dimensions for you and you can see if they are they same size.... mine are DRASTICALLY different. Not even close to the same size.

I believe this will be the mirror you need then. I have attached a pic of the connection, and its dimensions of the glass are ABOUT 5in across by 4 inches high and it is rounded.
