A/C RECHARGE
All depends on if you can justify buying the stuff to do it yourself and are willing(if needed, which is probably why your asking) to figure out how to do it correctly. How old is your car and why does it need recharged? If there is a leak , what are you going to do? How are you going to determine if there is a leak? When I build a car and need to get it recharged I do it myself-after pulling a vacuum on the system-is your system empty and needs evacuated or just topped off? If the car is relatively new there is a reason/problem as to why it needs recharged. You can go where they have a machine that tells all and does the recharge-shop around as the price varies wildly and this does not have to be done @ the dealer so the choices are wide.
most garages will do it if they have the right recharge equipment ( DIY ) very debatable,
the systems used in the garage do a full test of the system and take approx 1hr but at least you know where you stand on the cost ( just dont tell them to fix anything till you get the results ) then you can decide on the value of the fix
