Default XM Sattelite Module 4 Sale

I just had Audi swap out XM for Sirius. I have the module for XM and I'm looking to sell it. $ 225.00 - Money order or cash and I will ship it. The unit is part # 8E0 035 593 A. It was removed from a 2004 S4 without navigation or tire pressure monitoring.

Hey Jersey,

How did you do that? I want to swap out my XM for Sirius the same way. Where did you source the Sirius module and did you have to get anything reprogrammed?

I also don't see any code number that looks like the one you posted.

Thanks.

I went through Audi - $ 400.00 for the Sirius module and 1 hour labor.

Dealer tryed to rip me off. I had them swap the modules and I figured that they would have left disconnected the XM module in my trunk. I got up the road and decided to check and it wasnt there. I called the dealer and was advised that they would not work together. No $%#!. I'm sure somebody was looking to make a buck at the dealer by re selling the XM module. I wonder much this happens. I went back and picked up the module.

Yeah, I'm positive you were entitled to the old XM unit for sure! I appreciate your response, thanks.

BTW, installing the unit is a breeze. You could have done that yourself (looks like 4 screws and a few electrical connections). My question is whether they had to program anything to make it work or did the system just adjust to the new text on the MMI for the Sirius? A Tech at my local Dealership saya he can source me a Sirius unit out of another A8 and we can trade XM for Sirius. He seems to believe it's that easy???

Dealer had no problem swapping one for the other. My problem was that there was an aftermarket IPOD connection that was hooked up to the radio and it had to be removed in order to run the Sirius. I just purchased that car so I had them do the work. I'm not too handy with tools !

I understand. BTW, is the iPod adapter this one by chance?

I wanted to do this to mine as well. If you have a better option I am interested.

It was not factory (IPOD interface). I'm told that even with the factory interface you can not run it with Sirius or XM, which stinks. The IPOD interface really worked well, sound wise, however I was not able to control it through the radio controls (I had to open the glove box and control it manually).

That DOES stink. I guess I need to do some more homework on the one I posted. If I still have to use the actual iPod to control the music, then what's the point? My FM transmitter (Griffin) works pretty well for that. Not as sexy as having a direct line into the MMI, but......Oh well...

Thanks for all your input. I apologize as it seems I've hijacked your post now....sorry.
