***FS: '98.5 A4(B5) 1.8T Quattro, $6850***
I'm the 2nd owner, bought it with all service and maintenance records including CARFAX report about 7 months ago. Lots of work done since then to bring it back up to LIKE NEW status:
- NEW front control arms (all 8)
- NEW front swaybar links (both)
- NEW front outer tie-rods
* 4-wheel alignment performed at dealer
- NEW motor mounts
- NEW snub mount
- NEW all 4 wheel bearings
- NEW Bosch O2 sensors (pre- and post-cat)
- NEW vacuum lines
- NEW Diverter Valve (710N)
- NEW ccv breather tube, check valves
- NEW OEM thermostat w/o-ring
- NEW Coolant Temp Sensor
- NEW OEM G12+ coolant/water mix
- NEW 17" Voxx wheels and Kumho Ecsta AST tires 245/45/17 94W
* balanced and rotated recently
- NEW tranny fluid and rear diff fluid (M1 75w90 full synth)
Overall, the car's
- A/C works perfectly, ice cold
- Heater melts your toes (works great, i mean)
- Steering is precise, feels perfect
- Factory Sport Suspension handles like on rails
- Sport Package includes sport steering wheel
- Sunroof and moonroof, work perfectly
- BOSE Premium Sound w/CD changer is awesome
***Timing Belt replaced at 75K miles, including new-style tensioner***
- Turbo replaced under warranty at 55K miles by dealer (have records)
- Catalytic converter replaced at 55K miles as well by dealer (have records)
- Engine has 112K miles, that's an average of 11K per year.
- Car was bought and operated ONLY in Southern U.S. = NO RUST!
- ECU is tuned by InMotion, good for 195HP.
- Quattro system works perfectly, no leaks.
- Avg. fuel mileage is 28 mpg.
- Passes Emissions with flying colors.
- Legal tint all around (GA)
Now for the downsides:
* will need new clutch in about 30K miles (to be safe)
* will need TB service again in 30K miles (to be safe)
* slight imperfections on exterior, mainly front-end (rock chips) and bumpers (have pics on request)
* chasing a small boost leak, should be resolved soon
* driver's seat had small tear in vinyl (they all do!) which is patched.
That's all I can think of, and I'm very picky. The car is in excellent overall mechanical condition, really cleans up nice, looks sharp black on black with the new rims. Only reason for selling is to upgrade to A6. Car is also posted for sale on AutoTrader.com
Car can be seen in Lawrenceville or Norcross, GA. No phonecalls after 9 p.m. please. Thanks for looking!

Price has been adjusted to $6450. Would anyone make any offers at least? I'm willing to work on the price. Edited ad can also be found at AutoTrader.com although it doesn't show the price drop yet.
Did my sig give me away?
Doesn't it get snowy up in Michigan? AWD would really come in handy...
As you can see on most of the FS threads, most people are bragging about how much money they put into the car in the form of performance mods. This is NOT one of those cars, I don't race it or try to "teach ricers a lesson". This is my weekend cruising car and also my daily driver that sees a lot of miles (can't afford to break down, so I repair and maintain to prevent that).
Any other A4(B5) out there that hasn't had its control arms, wheel bearings and other rubber parts refreshed will be about a grand cheaper, meaning you'll get to do the work I just finished. Hopefully my price doesn't seem too out of the ballpark now. I've invested plenty in it to make it perform like it came off the showroom floor, although it doesn't exaclty look like it. I'm thinking about a paint job in the not-so-distant future, if it doesn't sell for what I'm asking. All it would need is a clutch and a TB job in about 50K miles and it's good to go.
Good luck with your studies there in Berrien Springs. I've been by there a couple times as a truck driver. Really cold up there.

i've already got it on AutoTrader and i was thinking of putting it on the Vortex too, but...
i decided i'm going to keep it instead. unless of course someone offers me the asking price, otherwise i'm not making any concessions. i was hoping to get what i first posted it at, but i got no takers. it's really not worth selling lower than that and i'd still be losing money. i'll probably end up keeping it, putting in a new stronger clutch and doing a full TB job, then paint it including body fixes and painted lowers, HID headlights and a new K-04. i can do all of that for about $3k or so, and it'd be worth be keeping even more.
what am i telling you all this for?
back to your studies (and me back to mine)!
