1984 5000S 5-speed FS - Bay Area, CA
This is a 1984 Audi 5000S with a 5 speed manual transmission. It's got 135,XX miles. It's a pale yellow color with dark brown interior.
THE GOOD
Runs great, drives great. It's fast and smooth. Never been hit,NO dents andNO rust. Most of the interior is very nice. It passes smog easily. It gets decent mileage for a big car, about 24MPG. I recently replaced the plugs, plug wires, distributor cap and rotor. The car leaks nothing and uses very little oil, about 1/2 quart every 3000 miles. It shifts great and the clutch is good. 3 power windows work, power mirrors and power antenna work.
THE BAD
1. Has a minor problem with the cold-start injector system. On cold days, will stumble a bit when starting, and you have to hold the gas down for about 30 seconds before it will idle on it's own. 2. It has a foot long crack in the windshield in the lower passenger's side. 3. The dashboard is badly cracked. 4. The climate control blower just stopped working. 5. A/C does not work. 6. Stock stereo does not get AM or FM only tape. 7. Just recently, the warning light for the hydrolic pressure accumulator has been coming on during hard braking. The car is still completely drivable, and even if the accumulator fails completely, youwon't lose your brakes or steering, you'll just lose most of the assist. I was just going to disconnect the warning sensor and keep driving.
This is alot of car for $1000. I've been driving it to work 70 miles a day with no problems. It can haul you and 4 of your friends at 80 miles an hour all day long in comfort and safety. Offers accepted. You can see it in San Jose or Redwood City. Will listen to offers.
