Default 1985 Mercedes 300SD

Formerly a CA emissions car. Switched intake/exhaust manifold and turbo from Federal car. Starts, runs and drives great. The car was originally owned by horse stable in Southern CA and migrated to Eastern PA in 1999 or 2000. I bought the car in 2001. Since I have owned the car it has never been driven in winter and has been stored in a heated garage. There is sun fading on the roof but the rest of the car is presentable with a few minor blemishes around front wheel well. The jacking points and undercarriage are ROCK SOLID.

Interior is nice. Dash has cracks but there is a cover over it that the PO placed there. I never took it off. Drivers seat has a minor separation but still looks good. Everything works with the exception of the A/C. I replaced the compressor and drier but it quit working as it needs constant re-charging.

Car was dealer maintained until 110,000 miles. I have all other documentation for repairs. With the car goes the original turbo/air cleaner setup, original headlights and original wheels. I also have some neat stuff to go with it too. I have the documentation from the mileage badges as well as two brochures from 1985 showing the entire model line up as well as the diesels.

Some of the maintenance of PO:

new water pump
several trans fluid/filter changes
4 new shocks
5 new glow plugs
new glow plug controller
new thermostat
new hoses top/bottom
new strut supports
new heater valve

new left rear caliper
new fuel filters

5/02 (286,700 miles)

new rear shocks

7/02 (289,700 miles)

8/02 (292,000 miles)
new parking brake shoes

5/03 (296,000 miles)
install new euro lights
install new wheels

5/03 (297,000 miles)
new glow plugs

6/03 (297,300 miles)
replace fuel lines between injectors

7/03 (297,800 miles)
new AC compressor and drier

7/03 (297,950 miles)
valve adjustment
remove/dismantle and clean injectors

4/04 (300,000 miles)
switch to Federal emissions
new front brakes/rotors
new front wheel bearings

11/06 (306,800 miles)
2 new flex discs
new driveshaft support bearing
new rear trans mount

7/07 (308,800 miles)
2 new motor mounts
new upper oil cooler hose
new fuel filters

1/08 (312,900 miles)
new guide rod mounts
cooling system flush/fill
trans fluid/filter change

10/08 (315,600 miles)
new rear rotors and pads
new front pads
new fuel primer pump
new hood pad

11/09 (316,000 miles)
new lower oil cooler hose

I am asking $4500 OBO.

The car currently has 316,xxx miles. As you can tell, I hardly drive it any more. I am looking to purchase another vehicle and this one should go. I would like to sell it to someone who will look after it like I did. I also have a Carfax from a few years ago laying around here somewhere.

The asking price is OR BEST OFFER. I realize it is a little high but this is my starting point and you will be getting a SOLID car for the money. Shoot me an email and we can talk a little more about the car and the price.

For those of you wanting to try out the biodiesel thing, this would be an excellent car for you. I have had some success mixing limited amounts of carefully filtered WVO with diesel fuel. I put several thousand miles on the car burning the WVO/diesel mix. Every 4-5 tanks I will run straight diesel with a DieselKleen treatment. It was costing me around $1.40 per gallon to run the car. I have not been driving it much the last year or two so I have just been running straight diesel fuel.
