Actually, I've only driven it 6 miles at a phenomenal top speed of 45 mph! The R8 comes with anywhere from 70 - 200 miles on the odometer from factory testing and dealer prep.

It's called making a profit.

 

He's beat at that number. They are on Ebay all day long for $20-40k less. Otherwise, head to the dealer pay their $10-20k mark up if that over sticker and order exactly what you want and call it a day. Some dealers are selling for MSRP, you just need to wait a couple months for it.

 

Why are people paying over sticker for an Audi...

Right now these cars have what we call in the car business "Adjusted Market Value." There may be a stray dealer here or there selling them for MSRP, but any dealer with common sense is selling these based on the demand. I worked for a Chrylser dealer when the Chrysler 300 first came out in 2005 and they have an "Adjusted Market Value" several thousand over sticker. People knowingly paid it because they couldn't get the car anywhere else. Also notice Audi doesn't give out pricing on their website for the R8, that's done intentionally.
