98 a4 v6 FS (North Jersey)
Hey all, new to the forum. Lots of good info here.
OK where do i start. A few weeks ago my girlfriends father backed up into my a4 in the driveway making some nice bodywork for mechanic someday. Insurance totaled it and i think the time has come to find a new vehicle. I am looking if anyone would like to buy the car for parts or for a project, whatever.
The car is a 1998 a4 2.8 v6. Almost 150k miles on and still kicking. The car starts and runs great ironically. I have had it since about 90k miles and used it while i was at school. I love this car and had minor work done to it. It has an air intake under the hood and a little catback exhaust that a guy custom made for me, it has a little purr to it, and it sounds pretty good. I have some wheels for it too if whatever buyer is interested. They are in fair condition and probably need new tires very soon. ok, so here goes what i know is wrong with it.
-Body damage to the rear driverside door and rear corner panel (i got it estimated at like 3grand or so to fix)
-Powerlocking system probably needs to be replaced
-in dash computer screen is streaky (just like every other VW car made this year)
-Front bose speakers do not work (pretty sure its a connection issue)
-There is a bottom trim piece missing on the door
-may need a new battery (the one i have is getting old)
-driver seat is torn where you sit
Here is what is good about it
-little catback exhaust for some purrrr
-air intake
-wheels
-All season tires are fairly new
-timing belt was done before i got the car at 85k
-just had a new stock radio put into it
-all oil and fluids have been changed regularly since i got the car
-only high test has ever been put in the car
Oh its Blue with grey leather interior manual xmission. Other thanj the bodywork the paintjob is nice n clean except for minor scratches n dings here and there.
I will post a pic shortly but the car is under a tarp and covered in snow. Feel free to email me with any questions or comments. Car is located in Bergen County (bout 20 mins from NYC) As far as price goes - you offer me whatever and ill think about it hahaha
