honestly, not really. it is easy enough to get a b5 1.8t in todays market for about 3500. i bought a 5sp 2.8 with only 90,xxx miles on it for $4000 an i only looked for like a week. just keep looking a bit and you'll find something better.

Ive been searching for weeks now for a 98 or 99 1.8t m/t with less tha 120k and the cheapest ive found was 4500 but most are in the 5500 range....
