Bad back.Cant keep her up.Have 2 other vehicles.The engine was rebuilt and only has 35 k.Replaced most engines components.even the brake booster.The cleveland salty winters have the body eroding away.Have a rust free 1981 5000 with dead engine that the rebuilt engine should move into.NOT ME.We balanced the crankshaft and used german mollie pistons.put a moly coating on new subframe(baked in)and the motors flywheel.Rebuilt front end.Powder coated struts.Repaced upper and sleeve bearings.The 78 starts fine but exhaust is getting loud.Replaced twice already.New struts and rear shocks.Replaced heat exchanger.Even replaced the load level regulator in the rear!($400)In ohio you dont have to emmission inspect cars over 25 years. old.So I removed the egr valve(still have)and covered with aluminum plate.The body has about 130k.Have lots of loose spare parts and actual audi manual.Who ever takes 78,has to also take the spare 81 body!She needs a good home,where somebody understands how she works.First year(78)had the simplist ignition set-up!!!With extra tranny,this car will run unti'll we stop using gasoline!Would make a great farm car!I dont drive enough to keep all 4 vehicles.
