selling question
this is my first post
. Anyways, I'm lookign to sell my A4 but I had an accident recently (about 7k for labor and repairs) and was wondering if anyone could tell me approximately how much less I have to sell it for. It has been fully repaired since then and is working 100% with no problems whatsoever now. I think Kelly Blue book value is around 22-24k. The car itself:
2003 A4 1.8T ~26,000 mi (w/ 100k Mi/8yr Warranty)
Ming Blue
Gray Leather
Automatic Tiptronic
Sport pkg
Cd Changer
Moon roof
Xenon Lights
Thanks for any info!

yes, but if the person looking to buy asks if it has been in an accident, you are required by law to answer truthfully. Otherwise you open yourself up to lawsuits.
I would advertise at a normal price, if they ask about accidents, tell them honestly what was done, have records of what was repaired/replaced. Then be prepared to lower your price slightly. If you try and sideskirt the whole accident issue you will scare buyers away. Being professional and honest is the best policy when selling a vehicle. Many people will buy a car that has been in an accident if they can see records of the work done on it.
Price should be lowered more if parts were repaired as opposed to outright replaced.

If the repair was done by Audi or an authorized Audi body shop, more than likely the repair is registered in the record and it would show on a Carfax report. Honesty is not going to hurt. I just wouldn't bring it up first thing and play it off as an easy repair that was done without any further complications.
My calculations are a bit higher than yours. Of course I had to assume a few other things to calculate the value, but I'd post the sale at $27K and take no less than $24K. That's 24K provided the accident/repairs are NOT noticeable either to the eye or the quality of the ride. If there is any doubt in those areas, then you'll have to adjust down from there.
