Headlamp bulb replacement
That's strange, I've replaced mine and never used a cover in the wheelarch.
[ul][*] Remove the "bonnet" and put it somewhere safe. (To remove the bonnet, open the service cover and twist the two black catches, then lift the bonnet forward and off, carefully)[*] Unscrew the headlamp unit using a Torq bit; two Torq screws to undo. One very plainly visible on top, the other one matches it, but is buried a little. Seek and ye shall find![*] Pull the headlamp unit forward, and you will have access to the bulbs. You can disconnect the wiring and pull the unit out completely if you must.[*] Assembly is (as ever) the reverse of removal!
[/ul]
Since the bulbs appear to last 6,00 miles if you're lucky (on the 1.4 TDi at least) you WILL become adept at this procedure!
